Israel-Gaza war: The fighting escalates

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has countered those he says are trying to pressure Israel’s military tactics, saying the only way to finish the job was to use crushing force against Hamas. Meanwhile, families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have met Mr Netanyahu and members of his war cabinet to press for more action to be taken to ensure their release.
