US confident more aid will reach Gaza

The United States has said it is confident there will be an increase in humanitarian aid entering Gaza through the Rafah crossing at the border with Egypt in the coming days. Meanwhile, Israel has been continuing to intensify its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces have been seen on the territory's main north-south road, close to Gaza City.
