Nato discusses defence spending

World Business Report

Available for over a year

At a Nato summit in Brussels, its members have discussed boosting defence spending. Sash Tusa is an aerospace and defence specialist at Agency Partners, and tells us what the implications of such an increase would be. Also in the programme, the BBC's Jonathan Head reports from Thailand on the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on tourists from the two countries who find themselves stranded there, either because sanctions mean there are no flights to return to Russia, or the war in Ukraine means a return to the country is currently out of the question. The insurance company Lloyds of London has announced its best results for six years, and the firm's chief executive, John Neal, explains what is behind its recent success. New York's famous yellow taxi cabs are being added to the ride-hailing platform Uber. Preetika Rana of the Wall Street Journal in New York discusses the move. Plus, our regular workplace commentator Sandip Roy explores the relationship between religion and the workplace. Today's edition is presented by Fergus Nicoll, and produced by Matthew Davies, Philippa Goodrich and Ivana Davidovic. (Photo: The leaders of Nato's member countries. Credit: Nato)
