What's next for Brexit?

World Business Report

Available for over a year

We take stock of Brexit as the UK waits to hear whether the EU will grant an extension. Britain has published a Withdrawal Agreement Bill aimed at turning prime minister Boris Johnson's deal into UK law. Georgina Wright of the Institute for Government tells us what the implications are. The status of Northern Ireland is a critical element of the proposals, and Wesley Johnston, who runs educational publishing company Blackstaff Press there explains why he's deeply critical of the deal. Craig Beaumont of the UK's Federation of Small Businesses offers us reaction from the mainland. And we get a European perspective on it all from Ilya Nortnagel, of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. Also in the programme, wildfires are raging in California again and we hear from a local mayor how they are coping. Ahead of a general election in Argentina this weekend, the BBC's Daniel Gallas checks in on the health of the country's economy. Plus, we ask why is Asterix still so popular after 60 years?
