Spain heads to the polls

World Business Report

Available for over a year

As voters in Spain head to the polls on Sunday we look at the economic arguments in play. The BBC's Guy Hedgecoe in Madrid has been out and about to hear what people want from the election. Spain's economy minister Nadia Calvino argues that the country is in a stronger economic position than it has been in the recent past. And we hear from Spanish journalist Clara Jimenez of fact checking news organisation Maldita how much of a role social media misinformation has been playing in the campaign. Also in the programme, our reporter in India explores how an economic slowdown is hurting communities and the knitwear industry in the state of Punjab. Plus we hear more on the way 'influencers' can make money through social media sites, and in particular how easy it is for social media accounts to buy fake followers. (Picture: A Spanish flag.
