In Guatemala the conservative candidate, Alejandro Giammattei, has won the presidential election, with just over 59 per cent of the vote. His centre- left rival, the former first lady Sandra Torres, won 41per cent. Heavy security is in place in Indian administered Kashmir as the mainly Muslim population prepares to celebrate the festival of Eid al Adha. Shares in the Hong Kong based airline Cathay Pacific have fallen sharply after the firm complied with a Chinese order to dismiss staff who've taken part in protests in Hong Kong.
