Protesters and military due to meet in Sudan

Newsday

Available for over a year

Protest leaders and military leaders in Sudan are due to meet again to negotiate key details of how the transition period will be managed. President Donald Trump has said the US Navy shot down an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz. He said the USS Boxer amphibious assault ship "took defensive action". Humanitarian organisations and health experts have welcomed the decision by the World Health Organisation to declare the ongoing Ebola outbreak a public health emergency of international concern. The declaration is expected to help increase international support needed to stop the outbreak.
