‘Air strike kills 40’ at Libya migrant centre

Newsday

Available for over a year

At least 40 people have been killed by an air strike that hit a migrant detention centre in Libya, officials say. Another 80 are reported to have been wounded in the explosion, which happened at a facility in the eastern Tajoura suburb of the capital, Tripoli. In Sudan, the Ethiopian mediators are calling for the transitional military council and representatives of the protesters to resume talks. The UN World Food Programme says it's more than doubling its aid to the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where more than 300,000 people have been displaced by recent fighting.
