Former Gambian president accused of rape

Newsday

Available for over a year

A 23-year-old former beauty queen in The Gambia says she was raped in 2015 by former President Yahya Jammeh when he was in office. Mexico's President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, says he's saddened by the deaths of a father and his daughter from El Salvador as they tried to cross the Rio Grande into the US. A photograph of their bodies shows them wrapped together in shallow water. We speak to Ken Wyatt, the first Australian Aboriginal person to be appointed Minister for Indigenous Australians.
