Attempts to restart negotiations in Sudan

Protest leaders in Sudan have been refusing to resume talks with the military leaders since the the killings in Khartoum, three weeks ago. It’s against this background that the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is trying to bring the two sides together. Voters in Istanbul will head back to the polls on Sunday to choose a mayor, after Turkey’s election authority scrapped the results of the original election, in March. Joy Harjo has been appointed as the United State's new poet laureate - the first Native American to hold the position. Harjo is a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation She is known for such works as 'The Woman Who Fell From the Sky' and 'In Mad Love and War.
