‘100 killed’ in attack on Mali village

Nearly 100 people have been killed in an attack in a village in central Mali inhabited by the Dogon ethnic group, officials say. The attack happened in Sobame Da, near Sanga town in the Mopti region. In a few hours time the national assembly in Nigeria will be inaugurated. President Muhammadu Buhari from the All Progressives Congress secured the presidency in February's election, but if he is to make his government work , he will need to be able to work with parliament. A ground-breaking study in Bangladesh has found that using data from mobile phone networks to track the movement of people across the country, can help predict where outbreaks of diseases such as malaria, are likely to occur. This then enables health authorities to take preventative measures.
