A regional solution to US immigration?

Newsday

Available for over a year

The Mexican Foreign Minister has said there may be a need for a regional solution if measures to reduce the flow of migrants heading for the United States are not successful. Marcelo Ebrard said discussions would begin with Brazil, Panama and Guatemala - the Latin American countries currently used by migrants as transit points. The final candidates for the Tory leadership race have been confirmed, with 10 running to become the next PM. Jeremy Hunt, Dominic Raab, Matt Hancock and Michael Gove - who launched their campaigns ahead of the nomination deadline - are all on the final list. Nearly 100 people have been killed in an attack in a village in central Mali inhabited by the Dogon ethnic group, officials say. The attack happened in Sobame Da, near Sanga town in the Mopti region.
