May faces pressure as minister resigns

Newsday

Available for over a year

Pressure has intensified for the British prime minister Theresa May to step down, following the resignation of a key cabinet minister, Andrea Leadsom, over the government's approach to Brexit. The counting of votes is about to begin in India after a staggered general election held on seven different days in April and May. About six hundred million ballots were cast, making it the biggest democratic exercise in the world. We hear the story of a young man from rural Ghana, who heard stories on the radio of West African migrants dying on their way to Europe and felt compelled to act. He took what little savings he had and bought glasses with a hidden camera and set off to record the journey.
