Taiwan's parliament has become the first in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage following a vote on Friday; US President Donald Trump has outlined plans for a new US immigration system designed to favour younger, better educated, English-speaking workers; and a study that began as an investigation into the "utterly bizarre" way in which bedbugs reproduce has revealed they have existed for far longer than humans.
