Massive fire ravages Notre Dame Cathedral

One of the world's religious and historic wonders - the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris - has been partially destroyed after it was engulfed by fire. Italy's largest bank is to pay more than a billion dollars to settle charges that it violated United States sanctions on six countries including Iran, Cuba and Syria. A top American museum has cancelled an event honouring the president of Brazil because its scientists had threatened to resign in protest.
