India Loses Preferential US Trade Status

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

The US will end preferential trade status for India on Wednesday, amid a deepening row over protectionism. India had been the largest beneficiary of a scheme, the Generalized System of Preferences, that allows some goods to enter the US duty-free. Our correspondent in Dehli Joe Miller has been asking Indian business what it makes of the news. Also in the programme, could Italy's growing debt pile find it in hot water with the European Union? We hear about the some times, fake sheikhs settling business disputes in Iraq and the Professor suggesting a tax on artificial intelligence. And, when is a country music hit, not a country music hit? We'll delve into the chart industry row, and give you the answer! Roger Hearing will be joined throughout the programme from the Indian capital Dehli by journalist Sushma Ramachandran and from Toronto, Canada by Ralph Silva of the Silva Research network. They'll also be joined by the BBC's Monica Miller in Singapore. (picture credit: Getty Images).
