Trump Rejects Globalism

World Business Report

Available for over a year

In his attempt to Make America Great Again, President Trump has already vowed to put America First. In an address to other world leaders at the United Nations general assembly, he launched a scathing attack on what he called globalism. We get analyis from Harry Kazianis, Director of Defence Studies at the Centre for the National Interest in Washington DC. A new payment system is to be created as major powers try to keep doing business with Iran. Mehrdad Emadi is an economist at the consultancy Betamatrix, and tells us how the new proposal might work. We hear about Argentina's financial crisis from our regular commentator Roger Bootle of Capital Economics. Plus our reporter considers the prospects for secondary ticket resellers, given that the British government has been trying to clamp down on how such websites work. Unlike lunch and dinner, breakfast in many countries hasn't felt the influence of outside forces. It's often a traditional meal, not a globalised plate of food. Josie Delap, home affairs correspondent at the Economist newspaper tells us how some nations start their day.
