EU Unveils Spending Plans

World Business Report

Available for over a year

The EU plans to cut spending on agriculture, and funds for its poorest members. Gregory Claeys of the Brussels-based economic research group Breugel brings us the details. And we have a report from Katowice, Poland, looking at how likely it is that the country might seek to leave the bloc. Also in the programme, UK prime minister Theresa May faces a possible revolt from some members of her party over customs arrangements post-Brexit. BBC business editor Simon Jack shares his thoughts on the latest developments. The UK is calling on Britain's overseas territories to be more open about the wealthy individuals and corporations using them as havens to minimise their tax bills. Naomi Hirst from the campaign organisation Global Witness gives us her reaction to the UK government's plans. Plus as Facebook announces that it plans to launch a new dating app on the social network, our technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones asks whether it is likely to succeed. (Picture: An EU flag.
