UK Parliament prepares for another Brexit vote

Newsday

Available for over a year

The British government is to hold a new vote on Brexit today, the final attempt to get the withdrawal agreement through the House of Commons. The speaker ruled that the vote could take place as the motion considered just the withdrawal agreement, not the future political relationship between London and Brussels. The Venezuelan government has barred the opposition leader Juan Guaido from public office. Mr Guaido is the man who declared himself interim president in January as part of a campaign to remove Nicolas Maduro from office. It’s been two weeks since Cyclone Idai ripped through Mozambique. The port city of Beira suffered particularly badly, and now people are working to bring the city back to life. The big fear, now, is a mass cholera outbreak.
