Britain & the EU agree on alterations to the Brexit deal

Britain and the EU have agreed on "legally binding" alterations to the backstop arrangement aimed at preventing a hard border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland when Britain leaves the EU. Algeria's president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, abandons plans to seek another term in office, following widespread public protests. Tunisia has appointed a new health minister, a woman called Sonia Ben Sheikh. The move follows the deaths from blood poisoning of 11 babies at a state hospital.
