'Green Book' has won the Best Picture award at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles. The film tells the story of a black pianist on a tour of the southern United States in the early 1960s. The Best Actress award went to Olivia Colman for her performance as Queen Anne in 'The Favourite', beating Glenn Close who had been widely tipped to win her first Academy award. The US Vice President Mike Pence will be meeting the self declared interim Venezuelan president Juan Guaido in Colombia. A conservation group, Elephants without Borders, says it's recorded a six-fold increase in the number of elephant carcasses in Botswana over the past four years.
