Catholic bishops gather at summit to discuss response to clergy sex abuse

Newsday

Available for over a year

Roman Catholic bishops representing almost 150 countries will meet at the Vatican shortly to discuss their response to the sexual abuse of children by members of the clergy. The summit has been convened by Pope Francis. A fast-moving fire has swept through a historic district of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka. The blaze broke out Wednesday evening in a multi-storey residential building which was reportedly used to store flammable chemicals. Later this month nine famous faces in Britain will take on climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the charity Comic Relief for an annual event known as Red Nose Day. They'll be on an eight-day trek and climb Africa’s highest mountain. We'll speak to one of them, former politician Ed Balls.
