As the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela grows, President Maduro is refusing to let foreign aid into the country. He says the country’s military remains loyal to him, but the BBC has spoken to soldiers who say he has lost the support of the rank and file. A teenage girl who left her home in London three years ago to join the Islamic State group has spoken to a British journalist from a displacement camp in northern Syria. Shamima Begum said she had no regrets about travelling to join the jihadist group, but wanted to return to Britain. Hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash has won the Polar Music Prize. The award was in recognition of his idea of using turntables and vinyl records to mix and create new sounds. But if it wasn't for the success of a DIY project when he was a teenager, the course of music history might have been very different.
