President Trump Strikes a New Note of Compromise

Newsday

Available for over a year

President Trump has used his State of the Union speech to appeal for political compromise on immigration. But he renewed the pledge that has caused deadlock with the Democrats to build a wall along the Mexican border. Mr Trump also announced that he would be holding a second summit with the North Korean leader in Vietnam later this month. A senior Taliban official has said the group does not want to take power by force in Afghanistan, but won't declare a ceasefire until international forces have left. NATO member states are due to sign an agreement in Brussels in the next couple of hours to make Macedonia the thirtieth member of the military alliance.
