China Jails Human Rights Lawyer for State Subversion

A prominent Chinese human rights lawyer Wang Quanzhang has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for state subversion. The Venezuelan opposition leader, Juan Guaido, has called two nationwide protests to try to remove President Nicolas Maduro from power. Reports from Burkina Faso say gunmen in the north of the country have killed at least ten people in a village close to the border with Mali.
