DRC Election Winner Denies Collusion with Outgoing President

The opposition leader, Felix Tshisekedi, has been declared provisional winner of last month's presidential election in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He paid tribute to the outgoing president, Joseph Kabila who, he said was an important political partner. A new study suggests that statins, the cheap and widely used drugs for diabetes and heart problems, have potential for treating severe mental illness. And in the UK, parliament has been increasing its control over the tumultuous Brexit process. MPs passed an amendment that will force the Prime Minister - in the event that she loses a vote on her Brexit deal - to present them with an alternative plan three days later.
