Trump Demands Funds to End Border ‘Crisis’

US President Donald Trump has demanded funding for his long-promised US-Mexico border wall to halt "a growing humanitarian and security crisis". In a televised rebuttal, Democratic leaders accused the president of holding the American people hostage. The spread of misinformation and fake news is the biggest threat to Nigeria’s 2019 elections says the country’s information minister Lai Mohammed. Newsday reports live from Abuja to ask where it’s all coming from and what can be done to tackle it. In Sudan protests against the rule of President Omar El Bashir have entered a third week. People first took to the streets on December 19th to voice anger against the rising cost of living. Sudanese activists and medical workers estimate that at least 40 people have been killed since demonstrations began. One of those is Yasser Ali, he was protesting when he was shot, arrested and now nobody knows where he has been taken. Let’s speak now to his wife, Hind Elnour.
