Paradise Wildfire: Death Toll Reaches 42

The authorities in Northern California say they have found the remains of another thirteen people killed by the worst wildfire in the history of the state. It brings the total known to have died in the blaze in and around the town of Paradise to 42. The UN is warning of catastrophic consequences for the Yemen if the port city of Hodeidah is destroyed. At least 100 people are reported to have been killed in 24 hours of clashes in the residential areas of the city. The BBC has just launched its international anti-disinformation initiative, Beyond Fake News. The BBC’s Africa investigations unit, Africa Eye, has looked at the dangerous impact of false information in Nigeria, where authorities believe people are being killed as a result.
