The NRA Loses its Company Discounts

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

The debate over gun control in the US rages on after the deaths of 17 schoolchildren last week, as customer sentiment begins to turn against the National Rifle Association. We speak with Kira Lerner, political reporter at Think Progress, whose Twitter campaign shed light on the companies doing business with the NRA. The Chinese government in Beijing seized control on Friday of Anbang Insurance Group, one of the country's largest companies, and announced its chairman would be prosecuted for fundraising fraud. Tom Hancock of the Financial Times in Beijing explains to us what prompted the move. A blend of whisky called Glen Buchenbach is the subject of a lengthy hearing this week at the European Court of Justice. The Scotch Whisky Association is concerned that the German single malt could be confused for genuine Scotch whisky. On one side, we hear from Jurgen Klotz of Waldhorn, which manufactures Glen Buchenbach, and on the other, Blair Bowman, a whisky consultant in Edinburgh. And we'll be joined throughout the programme by ABC Australia journalist and presenter, Elizabeth Jackson.
