US Surprise at 'Dramatic' N Korea Shift

World Business Report

Available for over a year

US president Donald Trump is set to have historic talks with North Korea's Kim Jong-un. Duyeon Kim is visiting fellow at the Korean Peninsula Future Forum in Seoul, and tells us how much of a role sanctions on the North played on bringing discussions about. Also in the programme, we hear from British businesses how they think Brexit negotiations are progressing. This weekend marks the seventh anniversary of the earthquake in Japan that led to the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The BBC's Szu Ping Chan reports from the country on how the disaster changed the country's energy policy. Martin Shkreli first became notorious in 2015 for hiking the price of a lifesaving drug. He was convicted last year of sending fake account statements to investors while concealing huge losses from two hedge funds he ran and has been given seven years in prison. We hear the view of Chris Low from FTN Financial. Plus we look back at the rest of the week's big business stories with Mike Jakeman from the Economist Intelligence Unit in London, and Lisa Abramowicz of Bloomberg Radio in New York.
