Will Catalonia declare independence?

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Reports from Catalonia say the regional government there may not declare independence from Spain this week, after all. The BBC's Tom Burridge saw a rally in Barcelona against Catalonian independence, while Pedro Schwartz, a professor of economics at the University of Madrid, says unilateral independence could hurt the region's economy. A ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of the death of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara has been held in the city of Santa Clara, where he led rebels to victory in a decisive battle of the Cuban revolution. The BBC's Will Grant says he is still seen as a hero in Cuba. A McDonald's PR stunt to bring back a rare dipping sauce left thousands of fans disappointed at the weekend, with police called to some US restaurants. Lindsey Bartlett of the Denver Post was lucky enough to try some. (Picture: A Pro-Unity rally marches through Barcelona carrying a sign saying "Lets not let governments divide us".
