'I fled Iran for Worcester to seek freedom'
Available for over a year
Nashmin Riazi calls the faithful city home, moving to Germany and then the UK after being denied an education in her home country. She shares how she cannot speak to family in Iran due to restrictions, only communicating with them via third parties, whilst she is worried that the continuing damage will only see normal people suffer. The artist and poet - whose work has been inspired in recent years by protests in Iran over wearing of hijabs - tells Alistair Binney how it was dangerous for her to stay in her home country, due to her political views. She says she's determined to be a voice for people protesting against the Iranian regime.
