Relatives mark Lancaster bomber crash anniversary

Available for over a year

The relatives of six World War 2 Polish airmen have joined the people of a Leicestershire town, to remember an act of heroism which took place 80 years ago. It's believed that the airmen made the selfless decision to stay on board the plane and steer it away from Wigston Town Centre, saving many lives. The relatives joined residents in Wigston at the crash site - in what is now the school grounds of All Saints Church of England Primary School, for the anniversary memorial on the 4th of February.
