Oscar-nominated Wunmi Mosaku talks Sinners, vampires and her Nigerian roots

Weekend

Available for over a year

If you're a keen cinemagoer and you choose which films to see based on Oscar nominations, then Sinners must be very high on your watchlist. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film is about twin African-Amercian brothers in 1930's Mississippi who have returned from Chicago to open a juke joint. Both the twins are played by Michael B. Jordan. It's part historical, part vampire/horror... and all set to a soundtrack of blues music. Julian Worricker has been speaking with the Nigerian-British actress Wunmi Mosaku, who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Annie -- the love interest of one of the twins, Smoke. Julian first asked Wunmi Mosaku what she thought of the film when she first received the script.
