‘NHS Wonder drug changed my life’

NHS Stories

Available for over a year

The world of medicine moves fast and Lorraine had a successful kidney transplant thanks to a new wonder drug that she says changed her life forever. After being on dialysis for 13 years, Imlifidase which is now available on the NHS, meant her body didn’t reject the new organ and meant the operation was a success. It’s only been used 8 times in the UK - 2 of them at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. For Lorraine, and for the hospital, it was quite a moment. Reporter: Kevin Ncube
