Gas leak reports to fire service has increased in recent years

A BBC Freedom of Information request has found that the number of reports to the fire service about gas leaks has increased in recent years. In 2022, there were 14 reports of gas leaks to the fire service, however in 2025, there were 74 reports. Our political reporter Ammar Ebrahim has been unpacking those figures and speaking to islanders about their gas safety concerns.
