A last look inside Kidderminster's Carpet Museum

Available for over a year

For over a decade, the heritage building showcased the town's 300-year carpet history, which Kidderminster had become world famous for. It was home to a large array of objects, archives, books and photographs, but struggled in recent years. Charlotte Blazier is a 24-year-old artist from the town. While studying textiles at Birmingham City University, she began volunteering at the museum, making items for the gift shop using their Victorian hand looms, as well as running workshops teaching skills such as crochet and weaving. She tells Gavin Kermack that the museum's closure will be a 'devastating' loss to the community.
