‘It’s either find a new base or tear it apart’

A group that looks after a maritime aircraft based at Coventry Airport have worries over the future. After the announcement that Coventry Airport will close in 2026, the Nimrod Preservation Group say they’re hoping they can move the aircraft, which holds the longest maritime flight in the world, to another base. If not, the only option is to tear the plane apart and get rid of it. It’s flight during the Falklands was critical during the cold war. Kevin Connor is from the Nimrod Preservation Group and spoke to BBC CWR presenter, Vic Minett.
