Episode details

Available for over a year
The TV Presenter and Adventurer Simon Reeve was born in Acton in 1972, and by his own admission had a bit of a troubled upbringing. He left school with just one GCSE, participated in antisocial behaviour, and in his late teens was close to taking his own life. Warning: Simon talks about this in the interview. By his early 20s, he was employed at the Sunday Times, initially in the post room, before working his way into investigative journalism. In the three decades that have followed, Simon has made nearly 30 travel and environmental documentaries, and written books on international terrorism, modern history, as well as his many adventures. Simon became a Listed Londoner in 2019, shortly after the release of his autobiography, Step by Step.
