Lyse Doucet is the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent, and one of its senior presenters. She is originally from New Brunswick in Francophone south-eastern Canada. But she grew up in an Anglophone household with Acadian and Irish heritage. Lyse began working for the BBC in the early 80s, and across a remarkably storied career she’s reported from countries across the Middle East and Asia - including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Indonesia and India. She’s lived in London on and off throughout that time. She has a new book out called The Finest Hotel in Kabul. Lyse Doucet reveals her favourite haunts, memories, pet hates and everything in between with Robert Elms.
