Dr William Shanahan is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a specialism in substance abuse and addiction. Dr Shanahan completed his medical training in his native Dublin at Trinity College. He initially trained as a GP before embarking on a career in psychiatry. He worked in the NHS for many years, specialising in substance abuse and addiction. In 2013 he moved to the private sector full time, and now he is the Medical Director at the Priory Hospital in Roehampton. He is also the Clinical Director of the Priory’s Addiction Services across the capital. Dr William Shanahan reveals his favourite haunts, memories, pet hates and everything in between with Robert Elms.
