Rebecca Lenkiewicz is multi-talented playwright, screenwriter, director and actress. She was born to a creative family in Plymouth in 1968. Her father was a playwright, and amongst her five siblings are two artists and a classical guitarist. Her stepfather is the artist Robert Lenkiewicz. Spanning more than 30 years, her career’s included acting in the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre, and prolifically writing for Theatre, Film, TV and Radio. She’s best known as the author of Her Naked Skin, which was the first original play written by a living female playwright to be performed on the Olivier stage of the National Theatre. The Polish language film Ida, which she co-wrote, won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, The European Film Award and a Bafta in 2015. This year she made her film directorial debut with Hot Milk, for which she also wrote the screenplay.
