Alternative Kew: The 'ethereal' London Museum of Water and Steam

London Uncovered

Available for over a year

You wouldn't expect the London Museum of Water and Steam to be described as 'ethereal'. And yet, according to it's artist-in-residence, that's exactly what this former waterworks is. Amongst the pumping engines and industrial machinery, the enormous yet somehow intangible power of steam is explored through a new exhibition called ‘Tender Machines: Holding Paradox’, by artist and physicist Dr Jasmine Pradissitto. So what is the museum really like? BBC Radio London's Robert Elms has been discovering why the London Museum of Water of Steam, should be on your list of things to do in Kew.
