Klitschko: Ukraine may have to give up land for peace

Today

Available for over a year

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has suggested that Ukraine may need to give up land as part of a peace deal with Russia, though he emphasised that Ukrainians would "never accept occupation" by Russian forces. His remarks come amid pressure from President Donald Trump to accept such concessions and after a recent Russian missile-and-drone attack on Kyiv that killed 12 people and injured over 80. Ex-boxer Klitschko is now one of the most senior Ukrainian politicians to indicate publicly that his country may have to give up territory, albeit temporarily. Listen to Today on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds: 6-9am weekdays and 7-9am on Saturdays.
