It was in September 2023 that the father, stepmother and uncle of Sara Sharif were arrested at Gatwick Airport on suspicion of murder – after returning to the UK from Pakistan. They were finally detained weeks after the ten year old’s body was found in a bedroom at her home in Woking in Surrey. So where had her relatives been, how did they stay hidden and why did they suddenly fly back? The jury at the Old Bailey found Sara's father Urfan Sharif, and stepmother Beinash Batool guilty of murder. Her uncle, Faisal Malik, was found not guilty of murder but guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child. In this episode of 5 Minutes On, Carrie Davies - the BBC's Pakistan correspondent - recounts her investigation into the man who hid the Sharif family. (Image: BBC)
