The future of Rugby's St Cross Hospital

The population of Rugby is growing rapidly and there have been calls to expand the town's hospital as a result. However, the hospital's trust have now confirmed that one of its wards will close in December. University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust said in a statement that the closure of the Hoskyn Ward was due to a "significant reduction" of transfers to the hospital due to a new scheme which avoids the need for Coventry patients to be transferred to the site, and confirmed that it will not reduce beds for locals.
