The drug that slows Alzheimer's

5 Questions On

Available for over a year

A charity has called it a "bittersweet moment". The first drug which can slow the progression of early stage Alzheimer’s has been licensed for use in England, Wales and Scotland. But, it will only be available privately. The NHS in England won't be offering it because the benefits are said to be too small to justify the costs. In this episode of the 5 Questions On podcast, the BBC's medical editor Fergus Walsh explains why this is a historic breakthrough. (Credit: Getty)
