Sunderland AFC legendary captain Charlie Hurley has passed away at the age of 87. The defender was named the club's player of the century in 1979 and made a total of 401 appearances for the Black Cats between 1957 and 1969. He also won 40 caps for Republic of Ireland and later went on to manage Reading.
