Down to earth gardening advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. It's time to prepare the brassica plot by constructing a mesh frame to keep pests like carrot fly and caterpillars away from the crops. Terry has advice on how to plant your young broad bean plants and why it's important to keep them in a good straight line. Jobs for the week include pruning the hedges before they go into leaf in order to make handy sticks for your peas to hang onto when the time comes to plant.
