Tributes to 'Unglamorous music' founder

Ben Jackson on BBC Radio Leicester

Available for over a year

Tributes have been paid to a woman who left her mark on Leicester's music scene. The Unglamorous Music project offers women the opportunity to join a band, regardless of their previous experience. At the start of last year, Ruth Miller founded the ’66 Days to your Debut’ challenge supported women aged 20 – 70+ to start playing instruments and perform a gig on International Women’s Day, just 66 days into 2022. Well Ruth was in a band herself 'The Verinos'. Peggy O'Donnell, from Burbage, is a keyboardist in the band and Steph Smith is from one of the first Unglam bands, Velvet Crisis. They've both been talking to Ben Jackson.
